Mask off is a work that questions the essence of “Koreanness” and renews the spirituality and movements of traditional mask dance with a contemporary sensibility. Choreographer Lee Jaehwa goes beyond simply reproducing mask dance, exploring the energy of transition, resistance, and liberation inherent in the act of ‘wearing a mask’, and thinks about humans as changing beings through dance. This work, which was selected as an excellent work in the NDCK Project (2024) and invited to the Internatioanl Modern Dance Festival (2025), expands the show time and maximizes the density of the stage by joining dancers from National Dance Company of Korea.
