Based on a true story, Coexistence, One warmly portrays the life of Dawuchi Chizuko—also known as Yoon Hak-ja, hailed as the “mother of Korean orphans.” After her husband, founder of the orphanage GongSaengWon, went missing, she became a parent to over 3,000 children. The name “Yoon Hak-ja” symbolically bridged Korea and Japan. As grown-up children of the orphanage reunite with their white haired mother figure, the play reflects on cross border devotion, love, and the enduring power of memory.
