Contemporary dance legend meets National Dance Company of Korea
Shin Chang-ho, who created fandom in the contemporary dance scene with his powerful and innovative choreography ollaborates with the National Dance Company of Korea. The blue-chip choreographer in the Korean dance scene, Shin hang-ho, served three consecutive terms as director of the dance company LDP(Laboratory Dance Project) after first being elected n 2009. He contributed to establishing the LDP as 'the only dance troupe gathering a crowd of fans' in the field of contemporary dance. His signature piece "No Comment" that premiered in 2002 continues to be invited to perform overseas and has become a repertory of the TanzCompany Innsbruck. Thereby it became the first work created by a Korean choreographer to be exported to a European professional ballet company as a regular repertory. Shin's choreography characterized by impressive group scenes and explosive energy will present a brand new style representing the DNA of Korean dance in "Man Made."
Innovative media art and stunning visuals
The National Dance Company of Korea unveils its historic first collaboration with the renowned choreographer Shin Chang-ho. The "Man Made," exploring the theme of interaction between 'humans' and 'men-made media,' presents a new dimension of stage art that showcases innovative media art and virtual reality technology. Meanwhile, dancers in modern costume metaphorically representing lively 'pixels' will create new movements, while blurring the boundaries between (traditional) Korean dance and contemporary dance. A harmonious blend of extraordinary visual images and curvilinear movements of typical Korean traditional dance will unfold on a futuristic stage against the backdrop of a myriad of virtual images.
