National Orchestra of Korea
The National Orchestra of Korea’s 2017-2018 season emphasizes “communication”. The National Orchestra of Korea solidified its position as Korea’s leading creative orchestra in the previous season and now aims to expand and nurture the value of our quality music through more intimate musical experiments and delicate communication with the audience. It plans to reinforce collaboration with various artists overcoming generations, genres and boundaries as well as communication channels tailored to gukak fans and diverse audiences. This season will start with “2017 Masterpiece-Lim Heon-jeong” and conclude with “Best Collection IV Park Beom-hoon”, maestros of Korean classic and gukak, respectively. Diverse creation work through which the traditional and current generation communicate with each other will also continue. “Five Pansori”, “Recompose x Resident Composer” and “Modern Gukak Tour” series will expand the creative spectrum of our music with various topics and methods. “Midday Concert”, a steady performer of the National Orchestra of Korea, will be moved to KB Haneul Round Theater for closer communication with the audience and, by newly introducing “Entongi’s Children’s Song Country”, a concert for children featuring familiar children’s songs, the appeal of gukak instruments will be shared with the young audience.
